Job Title: Mold Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mold Design Engineer with expertise in plastic injection mold tool design and manufacturing. This role involves collaborating on processes and continuous improvements, delivering high-quality designs that meet customer regulations, and supporting internal CNC operators and programmers with tooling processes for manufacturing equipment.

ResponsibilitiesDesign tools and molds for plastic injection molding.Collaborate on process and continuous improvement initiatives.Demonstrate high-level performance that delivers high-quality designs.Support internal CNC operators and programmers with tooling processes.Manage some project responsibilities, including overseeing external work that cannot be completed in-house.Support the tool throughout its lifespan, including design changes based on internal requirements or customer requests.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.3+ years of experience with plastic injection mold tool design and manufacturing.Familiarity with the plastics injection molding process.Experience with CAD software (NX preferred, but other 3D design software considered).Proficient in Microsoft Office, IQMS, and Outlook.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience as a toolmaker is a plus.Logical thinking ability and a strong attention to detail.Experience with rapid prototyping is a plus.Experience in SolidWorks, Creo, Drafting, Mechanical Design, and Mechanical Drafting.Work Environment

This is a new role based on the growth of the company. The Mold Design Engineer will work with three other Mold/Tooling designers in a 176,000 square foot manufacturing facility. The company has been in business for over 60 years, shipped 8 million mats last year, and is ISO and IATF registered. The company offers an employee profit-sharing program, where employees receive shares based on tenure, eligible after three years.
