Qualifications for Sr. Network Administrator
Education:
BS or BA degree in computer science or related field as well as a CCNA, CCNP, MCSE or MCSA certification
Technical:
Experience: 7+ years in server administration and 3 years data center administration minimum. General infrastructure experience with multiple technologies including Cisco networks, Windows servers, including:
Cisco Switches, Firewall, VMWare virtualization, Monitoring Tools, SQL Database, Antivirus
Eight or more years of experience in network and server design and architecture
* Four or more years of experience in VmwareVSphere,and VCenter
* Four or more years of experience with Cisco switches in a LAN/WAN environment
* Experience actively maintaining and supporting Windows 2003/2008
* Experience with DNS/WINS
* Experience with Barracuda equipment
* Application support experience with Microsoft Office 2010, antivirus
* Experience with SAN/NAS systems
* Experience with Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 and higher
Knowledge:
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines and varying degrees of technical experience.

Additional Information below
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Contractor will provide all coverage and support for data center and networks.
This is a senior position level, responsible for the supervision of one (1) network administrator and will serve as backup support for Desktop and Network Administration.
The Division requires coverage during regular business hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) and 24 hours on call coverage continuously throughout the year. The Contractor will provide overall network, data center and serve as back-up desktop support as needed.
The Division operates a complex configuration that supports massive data collection, processing, storage and reporting. The Division has mostly Dell PE server based VMware hosts (approx.18) with an EqualLogic SAN (240 Tb), all operating in a VMware vSphere infrastructure(ESX 4.0, 4.1,5.0,vSphere 4.0,4.1,5.0) environment With Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 guests and Linux guests (approx. 100), SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 Database.
The Contractor will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting network performance issues, architecture and performance tuning ranging from ESX hosts performance, guest OS(Windows, Linux) performance to Database performance and application performance(DOTNET Framework and JEE) as well as directing the server administrator to handle all facets of the network.
The Division’s network is a combination of voice/data LAN, installed and monitored by Verizon, utilizing Cisco equipment (Verizon Managed). The Contractor will trouble shoot and foster the Division relationships with Verizon, and the Information Technology Division (ITD); will coordinate resolution of the problem and offer technical assistance to isolate and resolve the problem.
Knowledge of these technologies (Firewall switches and technology, Cisco switches, Cisco Voice gateways, TCP/IP Networking, Cisco Call Manager, etc). Due to the amount of data and extensive I/O, experience is a must.
The Division also operates a secure Internet portal for data that contains a windows and Linux web server along with a database server.
Responsibilities for Sr. Network Administrator:
The Contractor will assist and mentor the desktop support staff and network administrator to further enhance the environment and the support required by the Division.
The Division requires coverage during regular business hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) and 24 hours on call coverage continuously throughout the year. It is extremely important that the system is operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
