Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. **Purpose of the position:** Automate network devices and solutions to align with Corning’s technology standards and meet the connectivity needs of our businesses. Advanced cloud platform proficiency and strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, with emphasis on Ansible, Terraform and desire to apply automation to all aspects of network cloud administration. **Responsibilities** + Solid understanding of multi-account and multi-region network topology and routing with contribution to overall architecture including intra-DC, Inter-DC and Internet Connectivity. + Provides advanced level engineering design functions + Provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems. + Creates presentations and seeks IT and business management approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major cloud and network technologies serving the enterprise. + Act as technical leader and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers within the organization. + Comprehensive knowledge of AWS and Azure Cloud networking. + Advance knowledge with Infrastructure as Code and desire to apply automation to all aspects of the network cloud administration and operations. + Test, implement, document and support network solutions including LAN, WAN and Cloud. For these services the candidate will be: + Documenting technical requirements as part of overall network solutions design. + Design multi-region, multi-cloud network automation and services + Creating, reviewing and/or vetting technical functional specifications and low-level network solutions design documentation, ensuring those are complete, correct and kept current + Assisting with implementation of upgrades and enhancements to WAN services, including communications, preparation of documentation and training + Participating in root cause analysis on incidents, helping to drive identification of preventative actions meant to ensure problems don't recur, and delivering on the tasks within those actions. **Education** + 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience **Work Experience:** + 7+ years of experience analyzing requirements for implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network devices/functions/tools/processes in a large enterprise or Telecommunications environment + 5+ years performing network automation deployments in large enterprise environment. **Corning Puts YOU First!** We are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential.
