Description:  The main skill candidates must have is strong experience with CISCO 6500. Also, candidates must have a solid background with switches and routers within enterprise data center.
Job Title: Sr. Systems/ Network Engineer.
Location: Boston, MA (downtown area).
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in reviewing and implementing network security measures to achieve a highly secure network.
• Participate in system/network capacity planning and deployment in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Own medium to large network related projects throughout the planning, design, implementation and operational process within a dynamic network infrastructure, as well as create and maintain appropriate documentation infrastructure, standards and projects.
• Be primarily responsible and accountable for the 24/7 run time environment including health monitoring, production change management and over all uptime of the network infrastructure components of the production operation working closely with the Technical Operations technology engineering team, Application Support and Development to ensure the ongoing health, capacity planning and scalability of the production operating environment.
• Act in a secondary capacity to other IT/Technical Operations engineers responsible for QA, Development and Internal IT infrastructure and critical projects across multiple data center locations.
• Troubleshoot system and network interoperability issues with the IT-Operations team in support of day- to- day operations as required. 
• Participate in systems architecture design and implementation as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that Priority 1 and High Priority incidents are addressed with urgency.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring for new and less experienced team members.
• Document processes and workflows.
• Be available for occasional after-hours (24x7) support.
• Participate in postmortem activities and report generation as required.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• 5-7 years of related network experience functioning in a Systems Engineer capacity with at least two years’ operating at a Senior Systems level. 
• Strong hands-on experience architecting and implementing Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) solutions to support 24 x 7 operations.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco products - routers, switches, firewalls, access points and wireless controllers.
• Extensive firewall architecture, implementation and management experience.
• Experience implementing and managing site-to-site Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
• Experience with SMTP relays.
• Maintain network documentation and network diagrams.
• Technologies/Protocols: TCP/IP, IPv6, NAT, 802.1X / NAC, etc.
• Windows, and Linux OS knowledge.
• Must have experience with VMWare: installation; configuration; admin duties.
• Must have experience of networking, security and business continuity.
• Scripting experience in Powershell, Python, Perl or Ruby a plus.
• Working knowledge of SAN Platform Administration as back end virtualization and database disk via fiber channel and iSCSI a plus.
Experience managing remote, collocated data centers and operating via remote access technologies and leveraging “remote hands” resources provided by collocations for system installation, break/fix replacement and troubleshooting with the ability to commute from the headquarter location to the co-location in Waltham, MA as needed.
