JOB DESCRIPTION:-
Responsibilities:
Plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support of network systems of high complexity in extranet, backbone, and corporate environments to fulfill business needs for performance and cost benefits.Serve as a technical lead for hardware installation, configuration, and operational support of these networks’ routers, switches, load balancers, WAN optimizers.Serve as technical a lead for WAN Optimization, working with application owners and clients to fine-tune WAN links for optimal performance.Provide 3rd level technical support to clients and to technical teams to resolve network issues and to support the implementation of new network solutions.Evaluate new technology and bring opportunities forward that would improve the future network architecture, performance, and network services.Ensure full compliance for all network architecture, designs, and implementations both past and present.Ensure all changes go through appropriate review, change control, and acceptance before implementation.Lead development, testing and QA functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.Build and maintain relationships with teams and third parties on network development or support issues.Provide highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible time frame.Work with the Information Security team to ensure solutions deployed meet company security requirements and provide technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts.Development of processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments.Develop and position solutions and build plans to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.Develop and streamline processes to further improve delivery of Network and Telecommunication services.Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree (Bachelors of Arts (BA) or Bachelors of Science (BS)) preferred.At least 5 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology.At least 3 years of experience in a Sr. Network Engineering role.CCNA certification required.CCNP certification a plus.Expertise on IP Technologies and extensive knowledge of WAN technologies such as MPLS, ATM and Frame Relay.Expert engineering knowledge of network hardware, specifically Cisco routers and switches, with a strong focus on data center technology such as Cisco Nexus and campus technology such as Cisco InstantAccess.Extensive experience and expertise on IP routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.Expert engineering knowledge of WAN optimization technology, including Riverbed Steelhead, to optimize application traffic across the WAN links.Knowledge of Cisco encryption technologies (IPSec, SSL), and hot standby protocols HSRP and VRRP.Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols.Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments.Experience with Cisco wireless technology.Ability to work in a fast-pace environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines.ITIL certification preferred.Skills
