Sr. Operations Officer - Corporate Actions Payments
Our client is the asset servicing banking group of Crédit Agricole and Santander dedicated to asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, banks, private equity and real estate funds, brokers, and corporate clients. Our Canadian Teams handle processes delegated by our European entities on a Follow the Sun model. This senior Operations officer role falls under the Corporate Actions Payments Team. Their responsibility is to handle corporate action event payments to client accounts (shareholders). They need to make sure shareholders receive payments on time, process it for them, and that they intiate swift payment message. Swift payments need to be tracked until they hit cash account of the client and reconciled. A bit more about the team: The corporate actions team falls under the Custodial Services group, and is responsible for processing corporate actions. The corporate actions team validates the details collected from swift messages and publishes the information to shareholders. Knowledge of SWIFT messages related to settlement and corporate actions is important for the custody services teams. Responsibilities of this role can include but are not limited to: Corporate Actions • Creation and monitoring of events in the data repository upon receipt of notifications • Notify clients and collect elections (elective events) • Transmission of Client’s elections to the market Top Skills Details • 3+ years of Corporate Actions Experience (With Corp actions payments experience specifically) across global markets (North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, etc). (i.e., Expert knowledge of all corporate actions events, swift messages, etc.) • Proficient with MS Suite • Strong written and verbal communication skills Additional Skills & Qualifications Soft skills: Be client-oriented and provide excellent customer service • Team Player and open minded • Fluent in English both written and spoken, French is considered a strong asset • Effective and clear communication • Proactive with a hands on approach • Organized with an analytical and concise mind • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Knowledge and good understanding of the Mutual Funds, Banking and Finance Industry as well as of the products and financial markets • Knowledge of any of the activities covered by our Teams is a strong plus • Flexibility to work overtime as required from time to time and to work non-standard hours • Strong knowledge of PC based applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Nice to haves: 1) Bilingual in French & English Experience Level Expert Level Work EnvironmentThis role is onsite Working hours: Between 8 am and 8 pm, in rotating shifts that are: 8am to 4pm 9am to 5pm 10am to 6pm 12pm to 8 pm Must be able and willing to work all holidays. **Candidates must be willing to travel to Europe for training. This could be approx. a few months of training. Individuals must be open to it** Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $68000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
