Kforce's client, a growing innovative engineering technology company in San Diego, CA has an opening for a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background. We are working directly with the hiring manager on this exclusive search assignment. The company designs and manufactures RF Wireless based electro-mechanical tracking systems for the transportation industry. This would be a 3-to-6-month contract with the possibility to extend. This position will be onsite at the client's offices, 5 days a week. Scope and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this role include the development, design and coordination of system interfaces, interactions, and outputs at all levels: * Communication and power transfer interfaces between various systems and components * Make sure using the right equipment and components; Be able to look at the overall system and be able to help problem solve * Interface with various engineering groups to define system requirements * Will be involved and oversee the mounting and installation of electro-mechanical equipment onto vehicles and/or aircraft * Will oversee system integration * Equipment components are Lidar, GPS, Cables, wiring, etc.
