**Your Role at KIK**
The Sr. Packaging Engineer is a critical member of the engineering team and leads or supports a variety of projects and initiatives including packaging cost savings, new product development, supplier sourcing, testing, quality initiatives, and documenting of a variety of packaging protocols for our Household and Pool consumer products businesses. This position is located in our Lawrenceville, GA headquarters and will travel to other manufacturing and test sites throughout the US as needed.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
+ Lead/Support packaging cost savings Initiatives, new product development, packaging quality issues in production
+ KPIs will include Cost Savings, Revenue Impact and Project Management metrics
**Technical** :
+ Lead technical, packaging related vendor sourcing changes, manufacturing validations and provide technical leadership in addressing vendor quality issues
+ Lead innovation and value engineering initiatives along with technical capability assessments of vendors
+ Generate packaging related documentation including specifications, test plans, qualification plans, reports and technical presentations using clear and organized written and verbal communication
+ Able to Conduct testing as needed at our internal lab and oversee and coordinate with outside labs for ISTA testing
+ Define DOEs and test compatibility of packaging material with chemical products to ensure no recalls in the field
+ Maintain KIK packaging specifications database
+ Develop appropriate pallet patterns, stacking configurations, and other parameters with TOPs software to ensure successful distribution throughout palletizing and shipping life cycle
**Operations:**
+ Support manufacturing to resolve production challenges related to packaging technical design or vendor variability
+ Collaborate with manufacturing to design packaging that is designed for manufacturability and equipment capabilities
+ Provide packaging material technical support for equipment installations and modifications to the manufacturing plant
+ Work cross functionally with internal groups to commercialize new development and existing packaging improvement projects. Facilitate solutions through interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
**What You’ll Bring**
+ Bachelor's degree required; Degree in Packaging Engineering strongly preferred
+ 7 or more years of packaging engineering experience in high volume manufacturing environment
+ Knowledgeable in primary/secondary packaging, bottles, caps/triggers, labels, corrugated RSC and HSC
+ Ability to take a project from concept through implementation and completion of finished product
+ IOPP Certification and UN/DOT Certification are a plus
+ Travel up to 25%
