Packaging Specialist
Responsibilities:
Pull, assemble, package, label and ship Explosive/Non-Explosive materials according to quality paperwork, Pack slip and current 49CFR/IATA regulations. Transport Explosive/Non-Explosive materials to and from various production buildings and Magazines and log accordingly. Create Freight Bills and DG Declarations for both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous shipments. Use of Fed-Ex and UPS Ship manager Hardware/ Software to ship product. Receipt and inspection of inbound materials. Pull and stock production kits, MRO and Line supplies. Use ERP system to move Materials for accountability and perform various material handling duties related to job task perform. Verifies Receiving, Work Order and Shipping data for quality and accuracy. Ships various materials using Fed-Ex and UPS ship manager software. Under general guidance of Supervisor and Transportation personnel, creates Bill of Ladings and schedules trucks for pick-up/ Delivery of inert and Dangerous goods. Performs cycle counts and physical inventories of raw and finished materials. Tracks daily production activates and escalate any problems to supervisor/FFM or other key operation team players. Directs workflow to co-workers and fills in for supervisor as required. Schedules overtime based on workload Verifies shipping documents and checks off shipments as they are complete for shipment. Assist in scheduling and level loading operations to meet the performance metrics Trains and documents personnel to new processes or procedures relating to the department. Directs inventory control methods by cycle counts, audits and inventories to maintain inventory accuracy of on –hand Finished Goods. May help coordinate physical inventories May assist with planning and assigning of personnel for given projects or tasks andmay provide assistance with mentoring or evaluation of lower staff.
Submit Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requests to DCMA/PHX upon request Submit Government Bill of Ladings (SIR) for product shipment. Review contracts for special military packaging requirements. Provide technical insight and project planning support to develop product packaging requirements. Verify compliance to government and regulatory energetic shipping requirements. Work with purchasing to ensure necessary materials, third-party test support and POP certification testing is in order. Generate packaging and marking instructions (pack & marks) which require reviewing contracts, Military Special Packaging Instructions, Competent Authority Letters, Interim Hazard Classifications and Military Standards. Submit deviation requests to take exception to erroneous/excessive packaging requirements. Creating an inventory control system or utilizing the existing Visual system to maintain an accurate inventory of shipping materials on hand. Work directly with planning to ensure that packaging is ordered with enough lead time. Attend Sales Order Kickoffs (SOKO) as the shipping representative. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must possess valid driver license and meet DOT requirements. Must obtain knowledge of Government Bills of Lading (GBL). Must be able to obtain certification in 49CFR/IATA for shipping and handling dangerous goods. Must be able to obtain Forklift and Golf cart competency examination.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent. 5+ years of related experience.#LI-KJ1
