What Sr. Paralegal contributes to Cardinal Health

Legal provides the company with strategic, proactive, practical and cost-effective legal advice and services in order to protect the organization's assets, operations and image. This function provides the company with strategic, proactive, practical and cost-effective advice and services in order to protect the organization's assets, operations and image. This role supports a highly complex, fast-paced, and multi-faceted business unit within the Medical Segment.


Paralegal prepares agreements and resolves legal questions under the direction of the organization's attorneys. This family provides support and prepares agreements, instruments, and documents, and pleadings relating to commercial matters. This job family also conducts training on corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, policies and company proceduresDrafts contracts based on term sheets, financial models and approvalsCommunicates contract policies and practices to internal business teams. Ensures contract review, approval and execution are in accordance with standard contract requirements and contract guidelinesPrepares and administers routine correspondence and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal and executionMay conduct research to support contract auditCoordinates approvals and responses during contract negotiationPerforms contract closeout activities including informing the appropriate stakeholders that the contract has been signedReviews contracts upon renewal to determine if changes to financial terms, IT and operational requirements are neededConsults with Sales, Marketing, Operations and other relevant stakeholders to determine who will be responsible to communicate the changes internally and externallyDrafts and negotiates a variety of healthcare documents and commercial agreements (Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreements, Product Purchase Agreements, Distribution Services Agreements, other corporate documents, and related agreements)Reviews internal and external marketing materialsAssists with ad hoc projects as needed, including document review and business process improvement

Qualifications

4-6 years of relevant experience in contract administration; healthcare strongly preferredBA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred. Advance Degree may be preferredMust be a quick learner and possess excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel

Anticipated salary range:  $79,700 - $113,800
