Seeking a Senior Peer Specialist to bring lived experience and serve as a vital member of our treatment team. This role provides non-clinical support and educates staff, modeling recovery values and principles. You'll help identify and address barriers to treatment, supporting individuals in both inpatient and outpatient programs. Typically Monday - Friday Day & Afternoon Shifts **Responsibilities:** + Provide individual and group skill-building in areas like problem-solving, money and time management. + Mentor new peer specialists through onboarding, training, and facilitating wellness or recovery meetings. + Advocate for consumers by contributing to treatment team meetings and promoting recovery goals. + Share personal recovery experiences and demonstrate knowledge of Wellness Recovery Action Plans and other mental health tools. + Offer community support by accompanying consumers to events and providing follow-up support in person or by phone. + Guide consumers in setting and achieving recovery goals, identifying community resources, and developing natural supports. + Serve as a peer resource by participating in committees and conferences. + Complete all required documentation and maintain appropriate professional boundaries + High School Diploma or equivalent required + Certified Peer Specialist or Certified Recovery Specialist certification required + Minimum 1 year of Peer Specialist or relevant experience + Lived experience with a mental health diagnosis, progressed in recovery, and willing to share recovery journey + Basic knowledge of mental health, co-occurring disorders, and recovery principles + Strong mentorship and leadership qualities + Able to effectively communicate the non-clinical role of peer support **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + NYS Fingerprint Check (NYFP) + NYS Staff Exclusion List (NYSEL) + NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse (NYSCR) **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
