ABS is seeking a Sr. Performance Test Engineer to provide Performance Test Engineering services to different customer facing applications. This position will be responsible for inclusive but not limited to Capturing applications’ current performance, Scripting, Result analysis to pinpoint bottlenecks and provide suggestions for performance improvements, develop performance baseline (SLA), Infrastructure monitoring, Thresholds setup, Alerting, and Azure cloud migration support. Our goal is to improve overall customer satisfaction.
What You Will Do:
Participate in software and system performance analysis, tuning, and demand/capacity planning for business critical, large scale, and high availability applications. Manage the availability, scalability, security, and performance of applications. Play a key role in infrastructure provisioning, system configuration, and deployments. Models’ technical requirements to evaluate performance impacts. Develop performance test scenarios and scripts by analyzing application and usage patterns. Run scripts and analyze performance test results to evaluate impact on production infrastructure and make comparisons with previous release benchmarks. Review test executions to confirm that performance tests are valid and operating as expected. Identify issues in the test execution, test data, and performance environment that are impacting tests. Perform in-depth technical root cause analysis for high priority issues spanning all technology layers/stacks and engage developers, product, architecture teams as appropriate for resolution. Provide tuning recommendations to resolve complex performance issues (response time, throughput, Heap, CPU and garbage collection, etc.). Analyze performance issues by looking at heap dumps, thread dump, CPU, and memory usage metrics. Provide tuning recommendations for heap, CPU, thread related application issues. Solve problems, analyze performance issues, and provide solution. Works with cross functional project teams to define performance metrics and acceptance criteria. Mentors less experienced performance Test Engineers.What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred. 5+ years of experience in the field of Performance Test Engineering. 5+ years of experience working with different performance testing tools e.g. JMeter, Load Runner, NeoLoad etc. Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (ADO, Bamboo, Jenkins, Harness etc.). Experience with at least one system monitoring tools for example Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics etc. Experience in Performance analysis of Microservices and Java Applications.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Capable of creating scripts & scenarios, running and analyzing test results in JMeter/NeoLoad/LoadRunner tool, configuring in monitoring tool e.g. Dynatrace/AppDynamics and setting up agents in application and Database servers. Strong background in SDLC and Agile (Scrum) software development methodology. Expertise with various programming languages (C#, Java Script, JSON, AJAX, HTML5, etc.). Working knowledge across all major tiers and technologies associated with distributed web applications. Requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise within own function and broad knowledge of other functions. Provides advice within area of expertise and may contribute to development of organization functional strategy. Regarded as technical expert within discipline.Reporting Relationships:
Will report to a Manager Technical Delivery and has no direct reports.
Working Conditions:
The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while concentrating on a computer screen.
