As part of the Worldwide Environment team, Amazon's Worldwide Carbon team is dedicated to working across the company with our business units to make operational changes to accelerate solutions and decarbonize our businesses in service of The Climate Pledge. The Supplier Decarbonization team is looking for an experienced leader to drive key initiatives that accelerate supplier action on decarbonization. This individual will develop and implement strategies to mobilize supplier action on adoption of low-carbon solutions and Carbon-Free Electricity (CFE) while also advancing solutions such as supplier financing, industry partnerships, and collaborations with NGOs and coalitions. This role requires a strategic and innovative leader who can mobilize suppliers towards decarbonization. They will be responsible for designing and executing cross-sector, multi-geographic solutions that require a coordinated, scalable approach, working closely with Worldwide Sustainability and leveraging Amazon’s industry influence to drive meaningful supplier action. Key job responsibilities - Identify High-Impact Opportunities: Analyzes supplier emissions data and business unit decarbonization plans to prioritize sectors and geographies where a one-Amazon approach can deliver the most significant decarbonization impact (e.g. industry partnerships, Carbon-Free Energy (CFE), supplier financing, etc.) - Strengthen NGO and Coalition Relationships: Leverages partnerships with sustainability-focused organizations to access expertise, resources, and global best practices for supplier decarbonization. - Manages projects and partnerships to help top suppliers on decarbonization; Directs business units and suppliers to participate in Joint Action projects, and identify opportunities for initiatives with suppliers and partners to address shared barriers. - Track and Evaluate Impact: Monitors the implementation of solutions, measures supplier progress against key performance indicators and adjusts strategies as needed. Basic Qualifications - 7+ years in sustainability, supply chain management, program management, or related fields. - Proven experience leading sustainability initiatives and driving supplier engagement. - Strong project management and strategic planning skills, with a track record of building programs from zero to one. - Expertise in renewable energy strategies, low-carbon technologies, or decarbonization frameworks. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders. - Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI). Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree in Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and carbon reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, SASB). - Experience working with global teams and navigating complex, cross-functional environments. - Knowledge of supplier financing mechanisms and partnerships with external stakeholders (e.g., NGOs, coalitions, and financial institutions). - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate practical solutions to complex challenges. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
