Role Summary Designs and develops electrical aspect of off-board power electronic product for rivian adventure network, including DC fast charger, L2 AC charger, bidirectional home charger product and et al. Responsibilities The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for development of high-power electrical circuits such as LLC, dual active bridge converter, flyback, PFC (single phase and three phase) and DC/AC inverter. Perform topology selection trade studies. Design circuits, keep component selection, create schematics, PCBA layout, magnetic design, thermal design, regulatory and compliance consideration and etc. Analyze and simulate circuits and components such as Simulate circuits using Matlab, PLECS, and other tools Analyze structures and magnetic components such as bus bars and high frequency transformers/inductors EMI/EMC filter design Interact with suppliers on critical components design. Test prototype power electronics circuits in lab Characterize power semiconductor devices including Silicon, SiC, and GaN Engage with Mechanical, Systems, Test, Quality, manufacturing, and Reliability Engineers Qualifications Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering for 3 year or higher degrees, specializing in power electronics. Expertise in high power EV charger or energy storage stationary related power converters preferred. Deep understanding of power semiconductor switches and diodes, and their characteristics Understanding of devices built upon various materials such as silicon, SiC, and GaN Strong experience designing and analyzing inverter and converter circuits including gate drivers Knowledge and experience with embedded control of power electronic circuits Power converters and grid tie control PWM methods Power converter thermal analysis and protection Experience with bidirectional AC/DC or DC/DC power conversion Experience using software tools such as Spice, PLECS, Mathcad, Ansys Simplorer, and Matlab Experience using FEA simulation tool such as Ansys Maxwell/Q3D or equivalent preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $121,500.00 - $151,900.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
