Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for a Senior Principal Microelectronics Product Engineer to join our process development and integration engineering team within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.  The successful candidate would lead the department’s product and process integration activities related to our GaAs PHEMT process technologies. 

The role of microelectronics product engineer has responsibility for the successful processing of compound semiconductor wafers to produce integrated circuits with performance, yield, and cost meeting the needs of internal, DoD, or external customers. The ideal candidate will have intimate knowledge of the performance requirements of microelectronics products, how they are modeled and designed to function within the process technology, and the fundamental device physics driving their performance. They will identify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve product yields and reduce performance variation of integrated circuits. In addition, the successful candidate will successfully engage the customer community (both internal and external) to help craft long-term improvements to support next-generation customer applications.

What You Will Do:

Process flow construction in the Manufacturing Execution SystemReview of product performance data trends and relationships to processing historyLeading failure investigations of performance and yield driversEstablishing the relationships between physical process/tool outputs and device/product performance and yieldTeaming with materials, process, equipment, design, and layout engineering teams to solve a wide array of technical problemsInterface with the customer or next-higher integration communities -- both to support field returns or the qualification of new products in production or emerging technologiesThis 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience in Engineering/other technical positionsExperience with integrated circuit design, typical performance parameters of microwave circuits, and DC and RF test methodsExperience with Manufacturing Execution Systems, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing methodsExperience with tools and software to automate and innovate in the field of automated defect detection and mappingExperience with failure analysis tools and methodsThe ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Basic understanding of discrete semiconductor devices and monolithic circuit components and their electrical characteristicsExpertise in Gallium Arsenide multifunction and digital design and performance (phase/attenuation, diodes, switches, logic)Engagement in technical communities and vendors related to semiconductor manufacturing and device engineering

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
