Do you want to be a key leader for Mission Execution and Training? If so, we need you to act as a deputy for a cross-country team, leading development of training for a novel mission in Dulles. You will support your lead in Colorado Springs, and various trainers and operators for the mission, while working with key subject matter experts in Virginia. In addition, you will aid in identifying NSS resource needs (people, tools, areas, support services) and working with stakeholders to address these needs.
What you will get to do:
Act as deputy for a team developing the curriculum for the ground software and operations of a dynamic classified mission within the space security domain of approximately 5 peopleBe self-directed and able to envision the end state of the product and take initiative to drive product development to closureManage the training budget and FTE labor report as directed by the leadEducate leads, operators, and officers on mission capability and tacticsOwn developing and delivering training material to the end user; including the training content, management of staff developing and delivering training, as well as the scheduling of training events with the end userDefine the tasks to train the end user in mission planning (MP) and orbital analysis (OA) functions for a space security mission performing dynamic operations in the geosynchronous (GEO) orbital regimeAbility to capture core concepts and instructional needs from a large amount of technical data (ground and space hardware) and communicate technical concepts to an audience of non-subject matter experts with varying levels of space domain experienceDesign a training approach for a growing constellation of heterogenous satellites with maturing automation for commanding & telemetry and mission planning.Develop a training program that aligns with agile software development and delivery, while ensuring operators maintain certifications on the ground system and on-orbit system capabilitiesDrive and maintain a focus on operator readiness for mission execution, with the ability to adapt the training program to evolving customer and end user requirements. Focus on mission understanding to "train the mission" not "train the tools“Design the training products to include Software Overlay tools and advanced simulation training to provide Initial Qualification Training (IQT), Mission Qualification Training (MQT), and tactics development using the ground softwareInterface and drive engagement directly with the end user to ensure the training program meets the standards defined by Air Force and Space Force guidanceLead adoption of new approaches to legacy instructional training approaches, while ensuring that all instructional and certification requirements are metSupport in person activities in Colorado Springs, CO designed to equip a subset of the end user to serve as trainers. Additional support to in-person activities in Colorado Springs, CO, will be requiredAssist in weekly engagements with the customer and end user on the status of the training program and own responses to customer actionsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field with 8 year’s experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years experienceMust have U.S. Citizenship with active or current TS Clearance with SCI eligibility at time of applicationUnderstanding of Systems Engineering principles and practicesAbility to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in RPO mission design, satellite ground software, distributed modeling & simulationExperience training and leading operational space missions at a mission operations centerExperience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, STOL, VBA etc)#NOVASPACE
Salary Range: $134,700.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
