Job Description:

Northrop Grumman Aeronautical Systems (NGAS) is seeking candidates for a Sr. Principal Network Communications position to join our diverse team of technical professionals at Barksdale Air Force Base, LA. This position is on-site with no teleworking option. 

Roles and responsibilities will include:

•   Maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs. 

•   Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements.

•    Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.

•    Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.

•    Create and ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.

•    Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short and long-range planning for in-house systems.

•    Perform troubleshooting analysis of network infrastructure and associated systems. 

•    Configure, install, and maintain network devices to include routers, switches, and firewalls.

•    Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, Trunking (port tagging), Spanning-Tree, and Port Security.

•    Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of network problems; periodically provide after-hours and weekend support.

•    Interface regularly with customers and manage customer network connections.

Basic Qualifications:

•    Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 12 years of applied experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience; or, a master's degree and 6 years of experience.

•     Ability to be granted and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.  May be required to attain TOP SECRET clearance in the future.

•     The ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP) within a period of time as determined by program and/or customer requirements, as a condition of continued employment.

•     Current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification.

•     Experience designing and maintaining LAN, WAN, and Cloud based networks.

•     Experience with configuring, installing, and maintaining network hardware.

•     Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining encryption devices (TACLANES).

•     Experience with STIG compliance.

•     Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, etc.).

•     Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.

•     Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

•     Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

•     Experience with remote cloud architecture.

•     DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.

• Specific Special Access Program access.

Salary Range: $102,200.00 - $153,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
