Northrop Grumman Aeronautical Systems Sector is currently seeking a motivated Principal/Sr. Principal RF Test Engineer to join our test team in San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo). We provide test services in our compact range in support of national security for our DoD customers.
Role description & Responsibilities
The RF Test Engineer will have a solid foundation in electronics and RF circuit testing, tuning, and assembly. RF and microwave testing will require familiarity with RF wave propagation, antenna measurements, instrumentation radar measurements (RCS and Antenna), network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and power meter measurements. #MPR
Basic Qualification:
Principal Engineer Test:
Bachelor’s degree in electronics/electrical engineering or equivalent STEM Degree and experience 5 Years with BS; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhDExperience in the setup and performance of calibrated antenna pattern and gain measurements with ability to analyze collected dataCompact and Far Field range uncertainty analysis and error source reductionExperience in RCS Range CertificationKnowledge and use of a broad band pulsed CW coherent, wide video bandwidth, instrumentation radar, and ability to troubleshoot and repair radar problemsPerform RCS measurements using high-speed, broadband pulsed-IF radar systemExperience in test matrix development utilizing full implementation of the Nyquist criteria against target and test scene dimensions for both SAR and ISAR data collection techniquesFamiliarity with electrical properties of materials and test techniques for sameAbility to interface with customers directly, write technical proposals and test reportsAbility to obtain Special Access Program clearancesAbility to lift 50 lbs repetitively during the workdayAbility to stand on feet for prolonged periodsAbility to routinely and repetitively climb vertical ladderAbility to obtain DoD Secret Clearance prior to start.Preferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $117,700.00 - $176,500.00Salary Range 2: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
