Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Strategy, Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment, this position plays a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the segment and the company, with a focus on driving profitable growth in an increasingly fast-paced and dynamic global Aerospace and Defense market. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic planning process and provide consulting expertise and project management for specific strategic initiatives that are deemed critical to business success. This role provides problem-solving leadership, conducts analysis and research, develops recommendations, and communicates well-articulated conclusions verbally and through written presentation material to the leadership team. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


•    Lead key projects to drive the overall strategy for IMS and L3Harris
•    Conduct research, analysis, data synthesis to arrive at data-based recommendations that drive business decision-making
•    Contribute to the segment strategic planning process, engaging with corporate, segment, and sector teams, as well as functions 
•    Support development of a cohesive, long-term strategy that addresses US and international markets / customer needs, technology, capital, and selling investments, differentiated solution development, and organizational alignment
•    Analyze market and industry trends / data, conducting competitive analysis to inform strategic partnership, acquisition, divestiture decisions to enable profitable growth

•    Evaluate products and capabilities to assess discriminators and identify interrelationships and synergies among businesses
•    Craft new go-to-market and monetization strategies for products/services
•    Create compelling executive-level business presentations to inform and facilitate decision-making, translating complex technical and business information into visually compelling and crisp messages
•    Other items as directed by the IMS Senior Director, Strategy
•    Must be able to travel up to 25% (including some international)


Qualifications:


•   Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry, management consulting, business development, or strategic planning, or a Graduate degree and a minimum of 13 years of experience.
•   Proven skills gathering and synthesizing data from disparate, qualitative and quantitative sources to form conclusive recommendations
•   Record of successful strategy development alongside an ability to influence teams and leaders
•   Working knowledge of global aerospace and defense and adjacent markets, with knowledge of sea and air domains
•   Disciplined, self-starting professional who can independently bring projects to closure 
•   Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and presentation) and an exquisite attention to detail
•   Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel  and PowerPoint, with proven ability to create and deliver senior executive-level presentations
•   Familiarity with industry-specific research tools (e.g. Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), Janes, DACIS, Bloomberg Government)

•   U.S. Citizenship required


Preferred Additional Skills/Qualifications:
•    Consulting experience, preferably in Aerospace & Defense
•    Knowledge of the land domain

•    Some technical background, exposure to agile development, rapid prototyping and emerging technology implementation 
•    Some commercial exposure
•    Experience with enterprise CRM tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and dashboards (Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau)
•    An Active US security clearance or the ability to obtain one
