What you will be doing
The Senior Buyer is responsible for the profitable procurement and timely delivery of products for assigned lines. Works closely with the Replenishment Manager, Sales Managers, Operations managers, and other Buyers to achieve the goals of the company. Provides supply chain/inventory management for a promotionally active desk and corresponding financial accountabilities. Procures products in accordance with all policies and procedures established by the company.
The position will be based in Tolleson, AZ.
Main responsibilities
Collaborates with suppliers, store operations, distribution centers and division office personnel to accomplish job functions. Coach, Train, and Mentor Buyers Reviews acquisition costs to ensure items purchased are at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need. Forecast Demand and Creates Purchase Orders based on need. Work with Retail partners on Promotional and Holiday Forecasts to ensure highest fill rate while managing consistent quality of product Conducts post-promotional reviews and analysis to determine if promotional requirements were met and if there were problem areas, develops solutions. Conducts logistics planning processes while ordering products to attain the best net product price possible. Based on projections, review key KPI’s and track towards objectives being achieved. Approves Accounts Payable variance processes for distribution sourced items to ensure correct prices have been invoiced. Maintains necessary files and records. Coordinates with Warehouse Operations to maintain the proper product flow through the facility, in a timely manner.A copy of the full job description can be made available to you.
What we are searching for
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain/Logistics preferred or equivalent work experience. Two plus years of Purchasing or Vendor Management experience in the retail industry preferred. Retail operations/Marketing experience preferred or strong understanding of store operations and merchandising methodologies and practices. Understanding of procurement, logistics and inventory management practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in taking initiative and making appropriate decisions. Planning and organizing skills. Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships within and outside the company. Proficient with MS 365 products. Most work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment. Incumbents will use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of the workday. Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
