Sr. Producer - Scripps News

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Sr. Producer to join our Scripps News team based in Atlanta, GA. The Sr. Producer will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering live news content to our steaming and digital planforms. You'll drive creative storytelling and visual presentation of news, supervise the selection and prioritization of stories, and plan and execute daily streaming show elements. Effective communication with producers and reporters regarding creative and timing needs will be essential.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Work closely with the Director of Live News on day’s focus and priorities

Drive creative storytelling and visual presentation of news

Supervise the selection and prioritization of news stories

Plan and execute daily streaming show elements and stories

Communicate creative and timing needs to producers and reporters

Oversee the scheduling of all shoots, editing and airing of pieces

Support the oversight of all studio/stand-up elements 

Work with other Senior Producers to manage content flow and build each show

Pitch and produce show elements for broadcast;-managing the in-studio aspects of the show as well as live reporters

Fact-checking and oversight of final product

Work with the other Producers to manage content flow

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Bachelor degree preferred

8+ years experience in live news

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Strong editorial judgement

Strong communication skills
