Sr. Product Manager, Cross-Border Trade
What You'll Do We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager* to lead development of the Cross-Border B2B product portfolio. You will manage our Trade Compliance program portfolio that positions Avalara as the leading Trade compliance partner for businesses selling and purchasing physical items across borders. You will report to a Senior Director of Product Management and will work remote out of the US. #LI-Remote This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship* What Your Responsibilities Will Be You will: Oversee the development of strategies and solutions that power our B2B trade compliance product portfolio Promote a compelling product strategy that synthesizes customer needs, market dynamics, and requirements. Lead definition and implementation of new cross-border B2B services including identifying opportunities to enhance scale and improve compliance, in response to emerging market needs. Build a roadmap that contains short term requirements and long-term plans; Promote understanding by providing near and long-term considerations and impacts, and highlight recommended trade-offs and priorities Stay informed on regulations and technologies relevant to this space to identify solution gaps and market opportunities for B2B product programs. Identify opportunities for innovation and delivering cross border services to support existing ERP based GTS solutions. Communicate risks, product proposals, conduct research and write detailed product requirements including user stories for engineering to meet Collaborate with the New Product Introduction, Customer Support, Training, Implementation, Legal, Support and Engineering organizations to identify dependencies and navigate priorities to meet roadmap commitments Create prototypes for proposed solutions and lead testing efforts to ensure functionality and performance, guide critical issues to resolution, internally and with partners and customers, being a primary point of escalation for partners Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Legal and Business Development teams to support product launch related sales enablement and marketing plans What You'll Need to be Successful You have: 5+ years of experience working in trade compliance, GTS domain within ERP systems with a mix of startup and big company perspectives. Experience developing service for global trade management partner ecosystem, including creating go-to market strategies. Expertise in import and export classification and trade regulations with a track record delivering projects that involves coordination include using and influencing a variety of internal and external partners including Technology, Customer, Compliance Operations, Legal, Tax, and other partners Knowledge of Global Trade Compliance platforms and service integrations (Oracle GTC, SAP GTM etc.) at an advanced level. 3+ years' experience as a SaaS product manager, experience with agile development methodologies, the Product Owner role, and commonly used tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc. Experience using a combination of subject matter expertise and program management skills to influence and lead programs to deliver successful results Experience in FTA's, HTS, Duty Drawback, CoO, Reconciliation, binding ruling How We'll Take Care of You Total Rewards In addition to a great compensation package, paid time off, and paid parental leave, many Avalara employees are eligible for bonuses.
