About the team and the role:
The Search team is responsible for the search page that drives a large part of eBay’s core marketplace business. The Search team strives to build an experience that enables users to easily explore, find, and buy what they want at the best value through an engaging, streamlined, and trusted Search experience, helping them make confident purchase decisions.
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, who is passionate about online commerce, building data driven products and questioning the status quo to join the Search product team. The person will primarily be responsible for driving growth for Motors / Parts and Accessories focused category by identifying levers in Search.
What you will accomplish:
You will lead the product strategy and roadmap for several initiatives within Motors in Search
You are a strategic problem solver and able to synthesize data from multiple sources (including analytics, user research, marketing research, and design) to identify key customer unmet needs, key solutions that can address the needs and build product vision with search query understanding, relevance and ranking
You are data-driven and analytical to draw insights from current product performance to deliver on key user metrics
In addition, you will translate product strategy into detailed specifications, make functional and user interface design tradeoffs, handle product launches and lead the product successes post-launch. Having the experience and ability to write clear, consistent and detailed product specs will be critical
You will need to work with a large number of teams within eBay to make the vision of the product successful, so building close, effective relationships with partner Product Managers will be critical
You will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineering, design, analytics, product marketing, and user research to deliver these products
You will prioritize product requirements based on data driven opportunity analysis to build a detailed roadmap. Communicate the roadmap and success metrics to different teams
You will lead the execution of your roadmap by working with data science, engineering, and analytics teams
You will build MVPs, iterate fast and be the champion of execution excellence
You will conduct AB tests for launch candidates and work with analytics teams to measure the impact on success metrics
What you will bring:8+ years of product management or Data Science experience. Past experience in Quantitative roles, Search Query understanding, Relevance or Ranking preferred
Strong analytic skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
Experience working closely with internal partners on product planning, design, and development
Passionate advocate for user, and has proven results in achieving superb user experience within tight constraints
Strong cross functional team leader
Demonstrated leadership ability, self-motivated and directed, entrepreneurial ability to innovate quickly
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$140,000 - $214,500Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
