The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a key member of the care delivery team. Responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of care, the Professional Staff Nurse holds responsibility, authority, and accountability for nursing care provision. This role involves managing and delivering patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with the team. The Professional Staff Nurse is a leader, partner, collaborator, and supervisor, maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The role also demonstrates a commitment to both the community and the nursing profession.
