UPMC Shadyside’s Same Day Surgery Department is hiring a full-time flex Professional Staff Nurse to join their department in an exciting, new role! This position will focus on rapid recovery orthopedic patients. In this role, you will be responsible for providing care to hip & knee replacement patients after their initial recovery in the PACU. Your primary responsibility will be to optimize the patient to be discharged within the same day! Other responsibilities might include discharging other same day surgery patients or conducting surgery pre-calls. 

The shift for this role is Monday through Thursday, 1pm to 9:30pm. You will only have an extended shift if there are patients being admitted later due to low bed availability. No holidays, weekends, nights, or call rotation within this position!

Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system’s goals to improve patient safety, quality and satisfaction of the patient experience in daily work. Demonstrates a passion for developing others, enthusiastically and expertly precepts students, graduate nurses and new hires.
