Job Summary
Reporting to the Controller and via consultation of program executive director and directors of programs, the Sr Program Accountant supports the coordination and completion of the required accounting, budgeting and funder reporting for his/her assigned programs. This position will focus his/her efforts on ensuring compliance with contract and grant requirements, supporting program leadership with its financial decisions, and supporting the conduct of internal and external budgets in an accurate and timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepares periodic funder reporting with input from program leadership and direction of accounting leadership.
• Supports program leadership and staff with development of internal and external budgets for assigned programs, contracts and government grants.
• Prepares for periodic funder audits and other financial reviews at direction of accounting leadership.
• Serves as a liaison with private and government funders to support ongoing communication between One Hope United and its funders.
• Develops monthly, periodic and ad hoc analysis of financial performance, including revenue and expense trends at direction of program and accounting leadership.
• Prepares and submits accounting adjustments, reclassifications and other journal entries, to ensure accuracy of program financial accounts.
• Builds and maintains understanding of government funder regulations and guidelines.
• Educates program leadership and staff about internal practices and policies to help ensure compliance with best practices and funder requirements for internal accounting controls.
• Accounts for budgeted and actual position control numbers to help ensure accuracy of allocated program staff for assigned programs, contracts and government grants.
• Partners with program staff to ensure accuracy of accounts receivables by monitoring A/R activities, reconciliations and payment applications;
• Partners with program leadership and staff to educate on accurate coding and allowability of accounts payable invoices and vendors.

Qualifications
Education: BA degree in Accounting is required. Finance or Business Management training/experience is a plus.
Experience: 5-7 years of grant accounting experience is required; previous experience working with/or for a Florida CBC is a plus
Other: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance

2. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

5. Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary.
6. Advanced proficiency in Excel.
7. Familiarity with accounting systems and reporting functions.
8. Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality.
9. Ability to analyze contracts
10. Knowledge of 2 CFR 200
11. Knowledge of GAAP accounting
