Gannett Fleming is looking for a dynamic Wastewater Engineer offering strong technical expertise to join our Water/Wastewater practice in Houston, TX to provide project engineering support to the Public Works municipal group.
The Wastewater Engineering professional will be involved in designing water distribution systems and facilities including treatment plants and booster pump stations, wastewater collection systems and facilities, and other projects typical of municipal engineering practice. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently to move projects forward or in a team environment to produce plans and specifications. Large diameter water line and water line routing studies experience is beneficial. Water modeling experience is highly beneficial. This is a hybrid-remote opportunity, with a requirement of three days per week onsite at our Houston, TX office.
Responsibilities:
Participating with project teams in the planning, design and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure facilities. Involved with client interactions, presentations and project coordination.Coordinating work activities by various technical staff and consultants including developing and implementing study and design standards for consultants to follow, leading progress meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, tracking project schedules, and budgets.Communicating with various municipalities and governmental regulating agencies.Overseeing construction contract management and observation services.Preparing reports and permit applications.Supervising and mentoring junior-level engineers.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.8-12 years of experience in water or wastewater discipline, particularly as an engineer designing water and/or wastewater infrastructure (i.e. treatment and collection/distribution projects).Must an a licensed professional engineer (PE) in TexasExperience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of water distribution systems and facilities including treatment plants and booster pump stations, wastewater collection systems and facilities, roadway/drainage projects, and other projects typical of municipal engineering practice.Experience with large diameter water line and water line routing studies.Proficient to intermediate experience with AutoCAD software.Intermediate to advance experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation.Leader and team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
