As a Senior Project Manager on the GEC/GPM team, you will have a pivotal role in managing and executing projects, with a primary focus on the unique Wyandotte Chemical Engineering Research facility. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading and directing engineering efforts to provide project management and technical support for the facility, with a particular emphasis on implementing new technologies that improve BASF's competitive edge, while also relying on strong technical expertise and project management experience to navigate emerging technical challenges in this ever-evolving field.
Leading a portfolio of capital investments, developing project scopes, estimating costs, and preparing funding requests while ensuring safety reviews and optimizing project scope, schedule, and costs through Value-Based Engineering practices (VBEs).Establishing partnerships with project manufacturing representatives, overseeing projects from initial scoping to final documentation and closure, and collaborating across the organization.Supporting Operations by providing strong technical support through partnerships with local teams and regional/global stakeholders to ensure project success and foster a culture of excellence. Managing SAP project data, monitoring progress through scheduling tools, reporting project status, and controlling spending through tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.Driving sustainable and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and predictability of capital projects and continuously improve the services provided in the capital work process.If you...
Hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.Possess professional engineering experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment, preferably in both engineering and project roles.Have a track record of 5+ years in successfully managing capital and expense projects.Have experience in process development, including experimental chemistry, pilot, and/or scale-up processes.Thrive in leading others through team-based problem-solving to overcome technical challenges.Exhibit strong skillsets in effective communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, coordination of parallel activities, and critical thinking for decision-making.Create your own chemistry with you@BASF
