Title: Sr Project Manager - Houston, TX


The opportunity:

This Senior Project Manager will oversee and drive the delivery of our distribution business technology and digital programs/projects.  This role aligns delivery under our Enterprise Program Management Office (PMO) and Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices, including any or all aspects of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, closing, and managing projects using different development methods (Agile, Waterfall, etc). The Senior Project Manager forms a collaborative relationship with both business and IT project stakeholders, partnering to resolve project-related decisions, risks, and issues; providing project status updates; and establishing and maintaining project-related financials, inclusive of third-party vendor/consulting management. The senior project manager will facilitate the information flow between project team members, management, vendors, and other project stakeholders.


How you will impact WestRock:

Manage and drive resolution for decisions, action items, issues, risks, and project changes using appropriate and agreed-upon processes and tools established within the ePMO and IT organization. Escalate to management as needed.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for tasks holding resources (internal, third-party, external) accountable for deliveryUse project management tools to monitor working hours, budget/spending, plans, risks/issues/changes, and benefitsServe as the point of contact and effectively create and communicate project progress, problems, and solutions to all team members, sponsors, key stakeholders, and PMODevelop and maintain collaborative, respectful relationships with the project delivery team, third-party vendor(s), project stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership


What you need to succeed:

7-10 years of experience in project/program management, including software/system project experienceExperience guiding and influencing cross-functional, virtually-based teams with varied SLDC experienceProficient with multiple SDLCs (ex. Waterfall, Agile–Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Six Sigma)Experience with tools used for project management (MS Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow PPM, Clarity, etc.)Experience with full lifecycle implementation for distribution-related ERP (e.g. Enterprise 8, Oracle, SAP) systemsProficient in using O365 Microsoft Office Suite, especially Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and WordTime management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal-setting
