Sr. Research Associate 2
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Research Associate 2 to work in Boca Raton.
Core Summary
The Senior Research Associate 2, SOM ensures that the operations of the assigned laboratory are efficient and in compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations. Moreover, this employee engages in complex and specialized research activities in furtherance of the University’s research goals and objectives.
Core Responsibilities
Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data and maintaining databases.
Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
Participates in the publication of significant results.
Advances expertise through continued education, training, and research.
Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
Stays abreast of developments in the field which may impact department functions.
Provides guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior research staff and students.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
The Sr. Research Associate 2 will work under the Director for the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health (CCBH) to support numerous CCBH research studies.
Research participants appointments with all providers and clinical research coordinators
Assist with internal and external meetings, developing and tracking doodle polls, and conference room scheduling.
Present research findings at departmental meetings, conferences, and workshops.
Tracking research participants appointments
Maintaining participants contact sheets and spreadsheets
Collect, analyze, and maintain databases.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reproducibility in all research activities.
Use statistical methods to interpret research results and generate reports.
Perform regular quality checks on data to identify inconsistencies or missing information, and resolve issues with minimal disruption to ongoing research activities
Assist in the preparation of research proposals, grant applications, and reports to funding agencies.
Contribute to the development of new research ideas and projects that align with funding opportunities.
Develop and distribute materials to promote the CCBH research studies, such as brochures and flyers.
Participates in community education outreach activities to recruit study participants.
Work with local organizations, clinics, and hospitals to raise awareness about the studies and recruit eligible participants.
Meets with study participants to explain the purpose of the study and study procedures and obtains informed consent.
Develop and implement strategies for participant recruitment and retention, ensuring diverse and representative study samples.
Assists with the preparation and monitoring of IRB documents, administers clinical interviews, and coordinates all assessment and patient contact activity.
Tracks participants through all stages of the research program.
Serve as a point of contact for participants, researchers, and healthcare providers to address any questions or issues that may arise during the study
Handle sensitive data and patient information in compliance with HIPAA

Core Qualifications
Master’s Degree in relevant field
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
