Microbiology and Immunology Research has an exciting opportunity for a full time Sr. Research Laboratory Technician position. The incumbent performs advanced technical activities related to laboratory research projects and clinical trials within the department. Specifically, the Sr. Research Laboratory Technician aids scientists by monitoring and recording study findings.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                     

Downloads, enters, and regulates data and maintains quality assurance.

Contributes to report writing and graphical presentation of data.

Monitors inventory of equipment and supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.

Maintains laboratory facilities and equipment in compliance with safety regulations and policies.

Prepares reports on project status and risk assessments.

Completes all required documentation for laboratory requests.

Schedules laboratory work based on project priorities to meet deadlines.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                  

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions                               

Maintain lab supplies inventory and verifying receipt of supplies.

Assist with daily care of various mice, including transgenic mice.

Daily observation of colonies.

Facilitate the breeding of animals and maintain inventory of colonies.

Bleeding and injecting mice and monitor health of mice.

Genotypes mice and record results in database.

Euthanize mice and collects and prepare tissues for experiments.

Washes glassware and sterilize items required for experiments.

Assists others in lab as needed.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
