The Role

We are seeking a senior researcher to join our Research team! This role within our Investment Advisory Solutions (IAS) organization, which provides insights and non-discretionary investment advice to family offices, institutional investors and investment advisors. Using Addepar's proprietary data and technology, our team generates models and insights that power diagnostics for clients, helping them improve their portfolios. Senior researchers conduct individual research and collaborate with academic partners from leading global institutions.

In this role, you will focus primarily on generating new research insights and models. These models will be instrumental in crafting our research agenda and building practical investment decision-making frameworks. They will be developed through activities including developing new diagnostic tools, crafting investment strategies, and advising clients.

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $142,000 - $223,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

What You’ll Do Perform research to generate insights, identify risks, trends, and opportunities for investment decision-making Apply creative thinking and problem-solving skills; independently tackle research problems that have commercial impact Develop, backtest, and implement quantitative models and analytical tools by analyzing proprietary datasets Partner with clients to co-create advanced analytics and investment tools Publish research insight notes and present research at industry conferences Partner with academics on research projects that test macro theory with portfolio data Who You Are Minimum 7 years of experience in a quantitative investment role, such as portfolio management, portfolio construction, investment research, or risk management Broad knowledge of asset classes, including alternatives (e.g., private equity and venture capital) Experience with risk frameworks factor modeling, scenario analysis, back-testing, and simulation Demonstrated research and complex model development skills using econometrics using Python, R, Stata, or similar Experienced working with large data sets and deploying data science techniques and analytics to solve problems Outstanding communication and writing skills, with a strong record of articulating complex topics clearly to a variety of audiences
