Maxar has an immediate opening for a Sr. Revenue Accountant in Westminster, CO. In this role, you will be a member of a highly collaborative team reporting to the Manager of Accounting. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations and supporting the month end and quarter end close processes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Record revenue in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies on simple transactions as well as complex multi-element arrangementsRecord other revenue and deferred revenue journal entries as necessaryMonitor and assess account activity for key deferred revenue and other general ledger accounts based on knowledge of customer activity and risksWork closely with billing and other departments to ensure proper setup of revenue contracts in SAPWork with technical accounting to ensure revenue recognition models are completed accuratelyComplete month-end and quarter-end analysis of revenue by customer and other metricsCreate and maintain desk procedures for GL and revenue processesCollaborate with other departments for ongoing process improvement effortsWork with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliancePerform other tasks related to close and ad hoc projects as neededPerform analyses and recommend adjustments to judgmental balancesMaintain supporting schedules and complete reconciliations for deferred revenue and other accountsMinimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent residentBachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldMinimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experienceExperience with U.S. GAAP (specifically ASC 606)Proficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelPreferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of SAPExperience with internal controls Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment while also knowing when to ask questions to better understand the process / issue.Ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions and locations Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.#LI-AE1

Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
