What you will be doing

Lead the Grocery Retail revolution at Albertsons with bold strategic thinking, impactful growth initiatives, and best-in-class execution to become the #1 Grocer of choice for our customers. 

The Own Brands Sr. Revenue Management Analyst can be located in Pleasanton CA, or one of our main regional offices.

This role is a part of the Own Brands Revenue Growth Management (RGM) team. This team is a strategic part of our vision and will enable a step change in driving Albertson’s Companies’ ability to leverage data as a strategic asset. Within this team, you will support strategies of the RGM team with analytical tools, processes, and insights. In this role, you will bring your experience in data analysis and strategic planning to help identify revenue growth opportunities, optimize pricing, and improve overall profitability.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Revenue Growth Management, the position’s principal objective is to define the role pricing will play in the overall category strategy, identify the optimal pricing architecture, and promotional strategy, to drive both the Own Brands business and total category performance. The RGM Analyst will work cross-functionally and will be responsible for delivering data-driven insights to achieve share, sales and profit goals. The position offers a unique experience not found within any other Sales function because of the high degree of interaction with sales, marketing, finance, and category teams within the organization.

Main responsibilities

Analyze large amounts of data, synthesize, and communicate actionable insights / recommendations to business leaders that drive positive impact to Sales and Profits. Some examples of Strategic Pricing decisions include Promotional Optimization, Price Investments, Category Re-balancing, Competitive Pricing analysis, Price Zoning & Store Clustering, and program measurement/reporting  Develop and manage promotional plans for Own Brands items and categories within Periscope, Price Advisor and Promo Advisor systems. (will include Fresh and Center of Store categories)  Build reports to monitor base & promotional pricing by division and provide weekly update to leadership. Partner with category teams to define the role of pricing in categories, ensure alignment to strategic objectives and consideration of competitive pricing and promo strategies. Lead collaboration with cross functional partners and external stakeholders. (e.g., Finance, Merchandising, Sales, Pricing Team). Continually evaluate competitors and marketplace dynamics to assess the impact on our business and develop related pricing strategy recommendations Develop deep understanding of category financial levers including sales, markdowns, funding, and profitability as inputs to our pricing strategy Collaborate with Finance to assess financial KPIs that accompany various pricing scenarios. Support Divisions on ad hoc pricing and promotional activity requests. Partner with offshore support teams. Develop and implement recommendations for continuous process and system improvements, including identifying ways to automate analyses and processes Operate with an enterprise mindset, making decisions that account for the impact across their stakeholders and team.

The salary range is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). What we are searching for 

Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Marketing, Economics, or Finance. 4+ years of Revenue Growth Management, Category Management, Sales, and/or Finance (emphasis in pricing and promotion) experience for a CPG or retail company. Analytical skills: category management analytics, PC skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Ability to synthesize and summarize large amounts of information clearly and concisely Experience with budgeting, P&L ownership, forecasting, and ROI analyses Experience and knowledge with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, Spins). Adept with Business Intelligence tools Experience with SQL preferred  Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross functional team members and external stakeholders to deliver projects. High degree of initiative with strong planning skills; must be able to work independently and be a team player Demonstrated strategic thinking. Strong understanding and application of innovation thinking and the 4Ps of marketing. Demonstrated successful written and oral presentations skills. Ability to structure and deliver persuasive recommendations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to manage the business. Travel requirements: minimal travel required, 5% of the time
