About the Job:
The Sr. RFID Specialist is a professional with in-depth knowledge of radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology and extensive experience in analyzing RFID data to identify improvement opportunities. This role leverages RFID data to inform strategic decisions, optimize inventory management, track merchandise, and enhance store digital fulfillment operations. The specialist collaborates closely with stakeholders in IT, Retail Operations, Inventory Management, Loss Prevention and Finance. This position plays a key role in helping PacSun improve inventory accuracy and visibility, enhance store operational efficiency, and reduce shrink.
A day in the life, what you’ll be doing:
Business Needs Analysis:
System Design and Implementation:
Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement RFID solutions and enhancements, including RFID tags, readers, data capture methods, and integration with relevant systems. Define data mapping and reporting structures to ensure accurate data analysis. Work with vendors such as Nedap, Manhattan Associates, and Appriss to drive solution enhancements and manage deployments.Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze large volumes of RFID data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to inventory levels and merchandise movement. Develop insightful dashboards and reports to communicate key metrics and performance indicators to decision-makers. Utilize data analytics tools to generate actionable insights for process improvement and decision-making.Change Management and Training:
Develop training programs for employees on new RFID processes and system usage. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and manage change management activities for RFID solutions. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during high-volume periods.What it takes to Join:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in RFID technology and the retail apparel industry. Deep understanding of RFID technology, including tag types, reader capabilities, data protocols, and system integration. Strong analytical skills to identify business problems and translate them into actionable RFID solutions. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets. Ability to manage RFID projects from initiation to implementation, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Developing the Community/ Leadership Qualities:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
