\nSenior Sales Engineers collaborate closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to deliver impactful solutions to clients and prospects using PitchBook’s API and data feed products. They apply advanced sales skills, technical expertise, and strategic insights to drive the pre-sales process and ensure value post-sale. With a strong understanding of the systems and tools where the company’s solutions integrate, Senior Sales Engineers guide clients in leveraging data within their unique operating environments. They demonstrate intellectual curiosity and self-motivation, staying ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and client tools to maximize the impact of these solutions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
\n\nWork closely with Sales teams to gather technical and business requirements from clients to deliver tailored API and Data Feed solutions\nPartner with Customer Success teams through proactive support and regular business reviews to provide clients with expert guidance, anticipate challenges, and troubleshoot issues\nManage queue of client and prospect requests for technical support, sample data, and product feedback\nCollaborate with clients to design and develop efficient workflows using our Data Feed and API Solutions by educating them on PitchBook’s data and leveraging data analysis tools such as SQL or R\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships to foster trust, identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensure overall client satisfaction\nCoordinate with Product and Data Operations teams to share client insights and drive product enhancements that align with user needs and industry best practices\nLead efforts to enhance team success by maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and driving process improvements\nDevelop and maintain knowledge on financial industry trends, technologies, and client systems to provide expert guidance and improve solution impact\nSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors \nParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested \n\n\n
Skills and Qualifications:
\n\nBachelor’s degree\n5+ years of experience in sales/solutions engineering, customer success, or technical sales\nExperience collaborating with large-scale enterprise clients, such as major investment banks, Big 4 consulting firms, or Fortune 500 companies\nStrong knowledge of database concepts, including relational tables, data types, and ETL processes and tools\nDemonstrated proficiency in data manipulation and analysis. Experience in Excel and SQL required\nFoundational understanding of scripting, such as Python or Shell scripting, including using APIs to integrate data\nProven ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences\nExperience conducting product demos, delivering presentations, and handling Q&A sessions with prospects or clients\nAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills\nExperience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with the sales pipeline, emphasizing the ability to help drive sales processes and track engagement\nProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and systems\nStrong desire and ability to learn more about the private equity, venture capital, private credit, and M&A marketplaces and understand how each of our diverse client types engages with our product and data\n\n\n

Compensation
\n\nAnnual base salary: $110,000\nAnnual on target variable commission of fully ramped representative meeting expectations: $30,500\nPitchBook currently has no cap on commission and commission is determined by individual performance\n\n\n
*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

Working Conditions:
\nWe believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
\nThe job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
