Sr. Sales Strategy Analyst

Primary Purpose

Provide data from internal and external sources to support the overall strategy and direction for the Sales department. With an ever-changing competitive landscape, this position will provide internal and external analyses to ensure proper information and insights for the long-term decision-making process. As well, they will recommend detailed actions across Wholesale, Retail and Export to create cohesive plans between all departments. Both effective communication and a mindset geared to long-term planning are essential to drive the cohesive sales strategy.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Sales Performance Analysis - Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales volume, revenue, margin, market share and customer acquisition/retention. Provide insights and recommendations to sales leadership based on data-driven analysis to optimize sales strategies and tactics. Market Research and Insights - Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs and growth opportunities within the poultry industry. Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes and consumer preferences to anticipate market shifts and inform strategic decision-making. Sales Planning and Forecasting - Assist in the development of sales forecasts, budgets and plans in collaboration with sales leadership and finance teams. Develop forecasting models and methodologies to accurately predict sales performance across various product lines and geographic regions. Data Analytics and Reporting - Develop and maintain sales dashboards, reports and analytics tools to track sales performance and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams in a clear and concise manner. Sales Strategy Development - Support the development of sales strategies and initiatives aligned with company objectives and market dynamics. Collaborate with sales leadership to identify strategic priorities, set sales targets and allocate resources effectively.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or a related field; advanced degree (i.e., MBA) preferred. 5+ years' experience in sales analysis, business intelligence, or related roles within the food or agricultural industry, preferably in poultry or meat production. Understanding of the Poultry Sales Cycle. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Excel, SQL, Tableau or similar software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
