An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Sr. RD Scientific Data Engineer within Honeywell UOP’s R&D Data Transformation and Testing Group located in Des Plaines, IL. This position will involve the development, implementation, and support of data systems along with multivariate analysis applications leading AI efforts across R&D.

The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 to $135,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•\tSupport existing and enhance data analytics capabilities to acquire, store, retrieve, and analyze experimental data
•\tCollaborate closely with internal and cross-functional teams to identify requirements necessary for the next generation of R&D data analytics
•\tRecommend and maintain infrastructure required to support data generated throughout groups within R&D
•\tDevelop and support applications that enhance data visualization, trend identification, and multivariate analysis that will provide actionable insights for R&D projects
•\tExpand AI efforts to predict the next generation of research testing and product development

YOU MUST HAVE:
•\tBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•\tKnowledge of chemistry and experience working around chemicals
•\tProven experience generating, acquiring, storing, and processing chemical data
•\tProficiency in database programming and support 
•\tDeveloped applications for manipulating and interpreting data

WE VALUE:
•\tBachelor of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or related field 
•\t3+ years’ experience working in a lab or industrial chemical environment, especially running lab plants
•\tExperience with software tools such as JMP, VBA, MATLAB, Origin, Tableau, and Power BI
•\tFamiliarity with programming languages including C# (Windows Forms), Python, SQL (MS SQL Server), and Excel VBA
•\tProficiency in database management systems like SQL Server, Oracle, and Access for data storage, querying, and manipulation
•\tFamiliarity with laboratory information systems and structured data principles, including the design of relational database tables
•\tExperience programming in a modern managed repository
•\tFamiliarity with process instrumentation including sensors
•\tChemometric, ML, or AI application development
•\tStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
