You will be responsible for Product Brand Stewardship for North America belVita.  This role includes overseeing the belVita portfolio with a mind for driving quality and consumer centricity across the brand, as well as supporting the team with the innovation pipeline. The candidate will own productivity, alternate line qualifications, ingredient substitutions, quality improvement, consumer complaint reduction and line extensions for the brand. The candidate will be the RDQ brand leader, and will interact with marketing, operations, and quality leads to develop, coordinate, and commercialize brand projects/programs. They will be a key intersect between R&D with the commercial team, the wider cross-functional team, and our consumers & customers. 

How you will contribute

Autonomously identify opportunities for the brand based on business priorities and consumer & customer needs.Work with a cross-functional team to plan and execute (then hand-over, as appropriate) a robust approach to fulfilling the identified needs.Provide technical input to project teams and act as a linkage back to the internal / external technical community.Design experiments, analyze results, & translate them into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance and support.Understand the functional characteristics of biscuit ingredients, packaging materials, and process unit operations, including how they impact finished products to meet consumer expectations.Manage a wide-agenda of varying priorities with strong time-management and organization.Draw connections between projects and understand their linkage to the wider business and brand strategy & goals.Have strong knowledge of the commercialization process (how to take products from idea to market) and how to execute these processes with the right-fit agility.Think end to end to proactively assess risks and develop right-fit mitigation plans based on the probability and impact.Work with a wide span of individuals, in a range of contexts, including with manufacturing teams.Act as a resource and mentor to junior members of the R&D department.

More about this role

You must be versatile, able to work in cross-functional teams, and be capable of working proactively across multiple projects. The candidate should be able to leverage experts/partners to ensure compliance to documentation, shelf life, regulatory requirements for NA, FTO/IP, and confidentiality requirements.

Education / Certifications Requirements:

 BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Job specific requirements:

Minimum of 5 yrs. experience, preferably in the food industry. Strong technical foundation and technical curiosity.  Knowledge of biscuit formulation/processes is a strong plus. Able to develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather, and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings & business context.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexityParticipate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.  Write process specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products across numerous manufacturing facilities.Excellent written and oral communication skills (English required, Spanish a plus); able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
 

Travel requirements:

•    Travel up to 30% to locations in Canada, US, Mexico + potential for other domestic or international locations

Work schedule:

This role offers flexible working hours; however, on-site presence at the office is required.

The base salary range for this position is $95,100 to $130,800; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
