Amazon Air (AIR) seeks a Senior Supply Chain Manager (Sr. SCM) who will lead short term operations planning for the Amazon Air network. Responsibilities include optimizing for core metrics (cost, speed, volume, and quality), scaling through automation, and prioritizing/delegating network issues amongst team members. All of these require an individual who navigates ambiguous scenarios including decision making without all the required information.
The individual must deliver results and scale despite constrained resources by inventing and simplifying. Collaboration with scientists, developers, and other tech teams is required. The Sr. SCM must look around corners, innovate, take risks, and optimize on a network-wide basis.
Key job responsibilities
- Influence and shape strategic decisions with internal stakeholders, using data-backed analytics to solve complex problems, while remaining customer obsessed
- Partner with internal business teams including operations, ground transportation, finance, research, technology, and engineering to deliver improved results
- Work closely with research science teams to develop tools for scaling/automation of network configuration
- Manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process
- Work within time constraints to meet business critical needs (often managing multiple, time-sensitive and high priority initiatives simultaneously), while measuring and identifying activities performed and ensuring service requirements are met
- Analyze data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Travel domestically up to 15% of the time to various facilities in the Amazon network
