This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and as necessary. Employees at this designation perform routine and complex technical duties in Preventative Maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of components within building automation field cabinets, sensors, and related controls. They traditionally work under the supervision of the Service manager and are expected to maintain all responsibilities and attributes of lower-level technicians. Employees at this level have at least 8yrs. of closely related industry experience.

Responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of building automation system field cabinets and all periphery devices. Responsible for safely performing Preventative maintenance tasks per department standards and assisting lower-level technicians to maintain these standards. Responsible for the diagnosis and repair of end devices, module configuration, and troubleshooting of network related issues. Attends and contribute to site meetings, as necessary. Provides information needed to evaluate labor requirements, costs, and overall performance of service contracts. Maintains positive relationships with owners and contractors. Thorough understanding of various protocols that may be integrated into the building automation system. Able to make complex program and graphic changes to meet specification, sequence and/or customer requests. Understanding of scopes of work, ability to read and interpret project specifications. Communicate technical issues to management and project managers. Document any database changes made at Service contract sites and make information available to all employees for future use and pricing. Reports to work on time and ready to perform assigned tasks. Maintains company tools, test equipment and material. Perform necessary database tasks such as backups, clippings, troubleshooting and exporting of files. Thorough level of understanding of the company’s building automation software suite, add-ons, and offerings. Creates thorough daily service reports to submit to Service Manager weekly. Sets a good example for lower-level technicians, provides training and repair support when needed. Looking for opportunities to keep the project moving forward. Communicate with job-site personnel to complete objectives. Take part in solutions-based discussions with owners and project stakeholders both inside and outside the company. Works with Service Contract customers to provide advanced DDC solutions, energy savings recommendations and building controls expansion that result in future projects for the company.
