The department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Shipping and Receiving Clerk to work at UHealth. The Senior Shipping and Receiving Clerk assists junior clerks with activities related to shipping and receiving of materials, finished goods, and internal inventory management to ensure department’s order requirements are fully met, while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and other applicable requirements for product tracking and trace-ability.

Individual in this position will work under supervision 70% of the time and independently 30% of the time

Assist drivers with off-loading deliveries and bringing all received supplies and equipment into the receiving area.

Handle large equipment such as: Incubators, Fume Hoods, Sterilizers, Microscopes, Refrigerators, Freezers all sizes, shakers, etc.

Verify the accuracy of all shipments; note any damages on shipper’s bill of lading, any shortages and overages

Reports inaccuracies to Manager.

Deliver materials and supplies, animal feed, and packages throughout the Medical Campus

Prepares packages to ship out via FedEx, UPS, or Freight

Prepares all necessary documents for receiving signature upon delivery

Files all documents related to Shipping and Receiving

Responsible for lifting and/or moving heavy items such as office and lab furniture, miscellaneous equipment, setting up, dismantling, and moving throughout the medical campus

Responsible for tool and moving equipment assigned on jobs

Disperse dry ice and alcohol throughout the building

Assist departments with confidential information to storage facility

Position is Tier one Essential Personnel and part of an assigned Alpha Bravo team

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

The individual must possess valid motor vehicle operator’s license as issued by the State. The person must maintain such a valid license during tenure of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Commitment to the University’s core values.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).

Lift and move heavy items such as office and lab furniture, miscellaneous equipment.

Load and unload trucks and perform manual labor.

Estimate work, tracks time of the moving crew and supervise their performance.

Keep track of receiving/moving paperwork.

Responsible for keeping all the above equipment in good working condition.

Plans, organizes and schedule work orders.

Takes inventory of the equipment.

Reports any mechanical problems with moving trucks.

Assign work orders and set priorities.

Other duties as assigned.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
