Clariant is currently looking for a Sr. Site Controller to support the Finance business unit at the headquarters in Charlotte, NC. The Sr. Site controller will manage the financial performance of Clariant's production sites, support budget adherence, and identify key opportunities for cost efficiency and operational improvements. Responsibilities
• Lead production cost center planning process for North American legal entities across business units
• Support and guide Cost Controller team in preparation of budgeting process.
• Prepare production cost center planning and activity rates used in standard costing
• Provide accurate up-to-date standard costing, work with production and master data team to ensure costing reflects appropriate BOMs and recipes
• Manage cost center assessments and allocations
• Review of production cost centers for accuracy throughout the year and initiate corrective measures, if needed
• Act as center of excellence for Cost Controlling Team in North America by providing guidance, training, and support
• Responsible for thorough implementation of reporting changes and global best practice approaches related to cost accounting in North America
• Provide detailed analysis of labor and utilities to site management
• Generate routine and ad-hoc reporting to site management to provide a transparent overview of KPIs used as a basis for management decisions
• Perform month-end closing responsibilities
• Provide monthly costs and variance forecast
• Partner with Excellence group to support proper calculations of cost savings
• Support global team in assessment and determination of transfer prices
• Support regional and global controlling organizations
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA is a plus
• At least 3-5 years of experience gained through increasingly responsible positions within finance
• Strong costing experience required; preferably experienced in activity- based costing
• Exposure to SAP or similar ERP system; must be comfortable with reporting systems, and with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Thorough understanding of financial analysis techniques
• Must demonstrate strategic short and long-term perspectives
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functions and levels
