Sr. Software Development Engineer, Amazon CS - Shipping & Delivery Support
Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (Sr SDE) who is passionate, innovative and wants to lead development of the next generation of transporter support software systems. The Shipping & Delivery Support (SDS) Tech team builds solutions leveraging machine learning (ML), large-language models (LLMs), and generative artificial intelligence (genAI) to provide transporters, delivering packages to customers on behalf of Amazon, with best-in-class support when they need it.

Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As an Amazon Sr SDE, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical problems. You will design, develop and deploy reliable distributed solutions that operate at Amazon scale. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, Linux, and AWS services. You will tackle problems, novel situations every day and will have the opportunity to work alongside talented Amazon engineers to redefine an industry. A successful senior engineer in this role is:

Key job responsibilities
- Be the technical overseer for the team: set a high bar for software designs and mechanisms for software creation and maintenance
- Mentor engineers to help grow their potential
- Think long-term on behalf of the systems, their impact, and sustainability
- Advocate for operational excellence
- Engage with product managers, leadership, peers, and UX to create simple, customer-serving solutions that are easy to maintain.
- Well-versed in scalable system design leveraging Amazon and AWS tooling
- Create mechanisms and give feedback to streamline team processes.
- Effectively articulate technical problems and solutions to non-technical audiences.
