Ring is looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer to help build/architect device health/status report services that support millions of Ring devices. These services are used by other applications/services for various device states. Examples of states are online/offline. You will get to work closely with software, firmware, and product teams across Ring and Amazon, and actively participate in defining and implementing repeatable architecture pattern. This is a great opportunity to build highly secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems using AWS technologies while influencing the development of novel products and features for Ring customers.

Key job responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain large scale software solutions using best practices
* Write clean, readable and maintainable code and debug complex problems spanning across different systems
* Communicate complex features, problems and solutions effectively and in details
* Work with other teams to design, deliver and maintain large scale features
* Enhance the architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance of the system
* Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers

About the team
Device Doctors team work on service to ingest device diagnostic information to provide near real-time device health statistics (online/offline, battery percentage, firmware version, etc). It also manages status report data coming in from firmware.
