Sr. Software Development Engineer, DLS Comms Tech
Description Amazon’s Disability and Leave Services (DLS) team in the People eXperience and Technology (PXT) organization is building a best-in-class program offering customized holistic leave experiences. The DLS Communications Service (DLSCS) provides streamlined, concise, and accurate communications for employees and supports efficient leave and accommodations case processing through automation of communications. As a Sr. SDE on the team you will take ownership over all aspects of the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery and support of services built natively in AWS. You will set the technical strategy to realize the vision for services owned by the team and will lead the technical delivery of large critical initiatives. You will influence short term and long-term development plans in order to balance agility while delivering business features without compromising the long-term DLS goals. You will utilize your full stack expertise and be able to lead the team on both frontend and backend design and development, and will influence design of other DLS tech and product teams. As a Sr. SDE, you will be responsible for the overall health of the service, ensuring performance, availability, scalability and will mentor other SDEs on the team. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
