Our vision is to provide a seamless and efficient solution for inventory movement planning within the Nordstrom ecosystem. By streamlining and automating return to vendor and transfer planning capabilities, we aim to increase accuracy, reduce costs, and enhance user experience.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Inventory Movement Planning team, you will be instrumental in realizing our vision. You will work on developing and optimizing systems that support inventory movement execution across various applications and teams (Supply Chain, Nordstrom Analytics platform, Other inventory services etc). Your role will involve streamlining processes, automating workflows, and standardizing inventory movement capabilities.

Create frameworks to solve multiple business problemsResponsible for leading design and architecture on projects, write great codeLeads & inspires engineers within the team through design and executionTakes ownership of systems or designs that span multiple people's work, breaking work into smaller tasks for more junior engineers to support.Influences design within and across teams for projects by providing guidance on software design, development & industry best practicesDiagnose and remedy performance or security issues  Facilitates cross functional troubleshooting, root cause analysisSurfaces potential design or delivery conflicts in the current product cycle and makes recommendations on the best options.Demonstrates expertise in industry standards for secure development practices Expertise with telemetry solutions and products available in the industry Contributes to community projects and engineering standards Help mentor junior engineers  

You own this if you have...7+ years of professional experience in delivering quality software, ideally across the full stackBachelor's or master’s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent experienceProficient with Java, Java Spring Boot Framework, and Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)Experience with RESTful architecture and microservicesExperience with system design, architecture, scaling and performance testingExperience with cloud technologies like AWS and/or GCPExperience with relational and NoSQL databasesExperience with messaging technologies and patterns (Kafka/SQS)Familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform and testing toolsStrong understanding of computer science fundamentalsTest automation experience at all levels (Unit, Integration, Regression, Load)Familiarity with ops tools, logging, and metrics (New Relic, Splunk)

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $120,500-$220,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
