The evolution of our cloud based platform is required for our scale, and we are searching for an experienced software engineer to join our rapidly growing engineering team. If you are an engineer experienced with backend applications, service oriented architectures, mentoring engineers and are motivated by scale, you may be the engineer we are looking for.
Innovate along with a team of passionate engineers on WP Engine's next generation ideas
Write, test, integrate, debug, and solve backend software applications that are resilient, robust, secure, maintainable, and perform at scale
Continuously iterate on WP Engine’s secure, cloud based, performant software platform that supports millions of end users
Build and maintain complex, backend workflows supporting and related to website lifecycle management
Improve code quality and test coverage, build deployment pipelines to safely and rapidly push new code to production
Invest in and fine-tune observability services to aid engineering and support efforts and create better feedback loops
Constantly look for opportunities to automate and optimize
Actively engage in and further an ecosystem of learning and mentorship
Lead technical solutions and system design across WP Engine
Work closely with Product Management to ensure that your frequent, incremental code changes add new value to our customers
Your skills and expertise.Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience
5+ years experience in a software development role, delivering high quality software
Ability to work with and switch between multiple programming languages primarily PHP, Python and Golang
Experience with cloud and containerized technologies and services - GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with developing and maintaining
APIs and microservices
Database schemas and optimizing queries
Observability services
History of technical leadership, problem solving and taking ownership of features
Proactive and has an inquisitive personality, a continuous learning approach, and an eagerness to tackle big problems even with uncertain requirements.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with WordPress desirable

Base Salary Range
$128,000.00 - $192,000.00We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
