Your Impact

 

GroupWise is OpenText enterprise solution for collaboration and messaging. It provides features such as email, instant messaging, calendaring, contact management, and task scheduling for the end users. It also provides a web-based administration to monitor and manage the system for admins. The successful candidate will join the GroupWise Messenger development team and design, develop, unit test, troubleshoot and debug the application

 

What the role offers

 

Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.Work closely with the QA team in improving the qualityAnalyze technical requirements, design applications, identify new technologies, and integrate solutions into existing codeResponsible for successful completion of code deliverables within the projectEstablish strong coding standards including unit testing, coding style.Develop prototypes and do live code demosConduct peer code-reviews to ensure adherence to patterns and standardsPromote a practice of learning by being available to mentor other developersParticipate in the user story grooming and estimation sessions to refine product backlogDevelopment of software in an agile development environment Ability to grasp new concepts and technology quickly and handle priorities in the areas of responsibility.Involved in the various phases of the SDLC

What you need to succeed

 

Strong C & C++ programming skillsStrong user level system programming background (Multi-threading, IPC, Network communication, Operating System interactions, protocol development, etc)Strong expertise in Linux environments, particularly in using systemctl, managing services, debugging, and maintaining applications.Experience with messaging agents running on Linux, including handling messaging protocols, database interactions, and notification/event management.Expertise in integrating and managing 3rd party libraries such as OpenSSL, OpenLDAP, and Libcurl.Proficiency with Make/gcc for Linux-based developmentDesigning software systems running on multiple platform types.Linux Scripting: Ability to develop & maintain shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and managing Linux-based applications.

5 + Years of Experience Using software systems design tools and languages.Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.Designing software systems running on multiple platform types.Experience with Testing and Quality Assurance methodologiesComfortable with command-line applications, source control, testing frameworks and continuous integrationExperience of working in an Agile based development environmentUnderstanding of legacy systems with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain stability.A strong desire to develop your career through self-learning and scheduled personal development timeExcellent problem solving and analytical thinking skillsAbility to work in a team environmentGood interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsFormal qualification in Computer Science or related disciplineExperience with Java-based services & Java FXKnowledge of Apple Push Notification Services (APNS)32-bit C++/ATL Development: Expertise in building Windows clients using VisualStudioAndroid Development: Familiarity with older versions of the Android SDKiOS Development: Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C using Xcode, with experience developing and maintaining iOS applications
