The Sr. Software Engineer on the Digital Manufacturing Team is responsible for defining the tools, processes, and knowledge to enhance the effectiveness of Allegion’s digital product development teams. 

What You Will Do:

Mentoring other Software EngineersCollaborative design and maintenance of standards for development, solution and software architectureAdvocate for the implementation and utilization of best practices across the groupAdvise product teams on solution and data architectures with a mindset balancing delivery of business objectives with the non-functional requirements of the overall architectureCollaborative design of interactions between applications to ensure reliable, fault-tolerant integrations using standard methodologies across the groupIdentify technical and security risk in projects and products and develop strategies to alleviate itCommunicate technical architecture direction and how it relates to business objectives to all levels of the group through documentation, training, and awareness.Deliver technical solutions for projects leveraging agile project management methodologiesDevelop specified application components or enhancements, as neededAdvocate for security and data privacy of all applications and data storageHelp to clarify, identify, and ensure hand off of requirements and project issues and escalate appropriately where requiredSupport innovation through creative application of tools and methods to software and infrastructure architecture, design, and developmentAnalyze existing business processes and software for potential design improvementsWork with the IT team, business functions, external vendors, and contract resources to deliver project requirements in a timely and cost-effective mannerStrengthen the relationship between the product, design, security, devops, infrastructure, legal and development teamsLimited travel is required

What You Need to Succeed:

Current experience with a modern general purpose object oriented language such as C# or Java and/or experience in a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or ReactA passion for technology and willingness to explore and adopt new technologies for practical business purposesA positive attitude working with an agile team to develop innovative technical solutions built on a secure foundation that enable business growth, more reliable customer interactions, and improved customer satisfactionBe apt at understanding new business domains and be creative and thoughtful about applying technology to improve processes and issuesAbility to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions with an eye to how they could be implemented at scaleMentor and share knowledge across the Allegion IT Teams.Verbal and written communication, with various team members in roles that are both technical and non-technical particularly to give direction or present business value of various initiatives to teamsProactively work to coordinate efforts with employees across the groupAbility to collaborate with global teamsAbility to identify issues, generate solutions, and choose appropriate alternativesDemonstrated knowledge in software and solution architectureExperience designing applications that collectively integrate custom software, cloud architectures and commercial off-the-self software, and possess awareness of the services available and benefits or trade-offs of eachExperience working in a fast-paced, agile environment while providing consistent application lifecycle managementDemonstrated knowledge in software development methodologies and best practices, application lifecycle management, and development and automation toolingBe self-motivated with good time management skillsBachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related discipline, or equivalent experience7+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and integration of Enterprise applications
